SEKO appoints chief technology officer
SEÁN BIRKHEAD has been appointed chief technology officer at SEKO Logistics.
Birkhead, who has worked for Kuehne + Nagel, Flextronics and Syncreon Technology, joined the company as implementation and integration manager a year ago.
In his new role, based in Chicago, he will be responsible for ensuring IT implementation, consistency, performance and security of SEKO’s IT systems and software infrastructure, says a statement.
Birkhead’s appointment allows Tom Madzy, SEKO’s chief information officer, to focus on the company’s fast-growing software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications, spanning purchase order management and order fulfillment, warehouse and transportation management systems (WMS and TMS), it adds.
SEKO’s customisable software can integrate with a client’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system or existing WMS software to obtain order and inventory data and visibility from vendor down to final delivery to the customer, as well as reverse logistics, the company says.
William J Wascher, chief executive of SEKO Logistics, comments: “Seán and Tom have significant roles to play in the growth of our business.
“We now have clients who are strictly software customers and this reflects the evolution of our business and the tremendous value of our technology.
“We can compete head-to-head with software-only providers because of the systems we have designed and implemented in response to what customers want.”
